The Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] has named Shaheen Shah Afridi to the team for the T20 World Cup, along with the other 14 players. According to recent reports, Shaheen Shah Afridi will be included in the Pakistan squad for the New Zealand tri-series. The Pakistan squad was declared by the cricket boards on September 15th, 2022.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, 22, has been suffering from a knee injury since he was fielding during the first test in Sri Lanka in July, and he has since missed the Asia Cup tour as well. Whereas, he will be unavailable to perform in the seven-match T20I series against England, which will start on September 20 in Karachi.
But, the chief selector Mohammad Wasim has clarified the fact about Shaheen that they are still monitoring the injury of Shaheen and based on this they will give confirmation to him. We are waiting for the speedy recovery of Shaheen’s injury and, based on that, we will give him permission to perform for their team, says chief selector Mohammad Wasim to the press in Lahore.
whereas former Pakistan team captain Shahid Afridi stated that Pakistan’s youngest player, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is paying for his accommodation in England. He is living in England on his own money and I only helped him by introducing him to the doctor after he reached England to take care of his health. In addition to this, the PCB hasn’t done anything from their side for Shaheen, as he was doing on his own, says Shahid Afridi in a discussion on Samaa TV.
Apart from this, if we take a look at the T20 World Cup tournament, the placement of Pakistan is in Group B, which includes India, South Africa, and Bangladesh, along with two qualifying teams who will be joining after the first round.
