Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood believes that with intensive training sessions in the coming week, he has the potential to compete in the World Test Championship final against India. Hazlewood had missed a significant portion of the IPL due to concerns about stiffness.

“My fitness is in good shape. It’s just a matter of completing every training session from now until the match,” Hazlewood stated. Reflecting on his absence from the IPL, he explained, “In T20 cricket, you’re constantly bowling different types of deliveries every over, from wide yorkers to bouncers to slower balls. Due to that, I experienced some tightness and a flare-up of scar tissue from previous injuries.”

Fortunately, the discomfort subsided quickly, and Hazlewood took a week off to recover. Although he couldn’t return to full intensity during the IPL, he expressed optimism about his progress, saying, “The last few bowling sessions have been positive, and I’ve been gradually building up my workload.”
