The women's team of West Indies has named Robert Samuels as their temporary head coach.

That’s interesting news! Robert Samuels has been appointed as the interim head coach of the West Indies women’s cricket team for their white-ball series against Ireland. Samuels, a former West Indies cricketer, previously served as an assistant coach to Courtney Walsh. However, his contract was not renewed by Cricket West Indies (CWI) in April earlier this year.

According to CWI High Performance Manager Graeme West, Samuels’ appointment brings continuity and stability to the team during this period. He has a good understanding of the players and the women’s game in general, as well as knowledge of the support staff. West believes that Samuels’ transition from assistant coach to interim head coach will be seamless. Samuels has already started implementing his own ideas and has made a positive impact in the initial days leading up to the series against Ireland.

It will be interesting to see how the West Indies women’s team performs under Samuels’ guidance during the upcoming white-ball series against Ireland.
