Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian cricketer, has consistently made headlines over the past few years with his outspoken statements. Recently, the 41-year-old expressed his disapproval of cricketers endorsing pan masala through surrogate products in advertisements.
During the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, several former cricketers, including Sunil Gavaskar, Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, and others, appeared in advertisements promoting pan masala products.
Gambhir criticized these ex-cricketers for endorsing such products, considering their behavior disgusting and disappointing. He also suggested that fans should be careful in selecting their role models.
Expressing his surprise, Gambhir stated, “I never imagined a cricketer would participate in a pan masala advertisement. It’s not only disgusting but also disappointing. This is why I emphasize the importance of selecting role models wisely. What kind of example are they setting?” Gautam Gambhir shared with News18.
