In the Qualifier 2 clash of IPL 2023 between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, young talent Shubman Gill showcased a stunning performance. The 23-year-old displayed incredible form, smashing an impressive 129 runs off just 60 deliveries. Gill’s exceptional innings played a crucial role in the defending champions posting a formidable total of 233 runs. This remarkable century marked his third century in the last four matches of the prestigious tournament.

Gill was awarded the Player of the Match accolade for his exceptional innings against MI at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. During the presentation ceremony, the cricketer shared his insights and revealed that his three sixes off Akash Madhwal in the 12th over provided him with the impetus to unleash big innings.

“I concentrate on every ball and over separately in my approach. The over where I struck those three sixes gave me the momentum to push forward. At that moment, I sensed it could be my day. The pitch was conducive to batting as well,” Gill expressed during the post-match presentation.

In addition, he stated that his form from the international season has been strong and he also had a prosperous previous season. “Feeling confident in my ability to score runs comes naturally to me when I start off well. Since the last West Indies tour, I feel I’ve elevated my game. Although I had an injury before the last IPL, I have been diligently working on my skills. I made some technical adjustments before the New Zealand series after the T20I World Cup.”
