Despite having a successful career in white-ball cricket, Yuzvendra Chahal has yet to play Test cricket for India.

Yuzvendra Chahal has established himself as a key player for India in limited-overs cricket, and he holds the record for the most wickets in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since his debut in 2016, Chahal has made significant contributions, taking 121 wickets in 72 ODIs and 91 wickets in 75 T20Is. However, he has not yet had the chance to play Test cricket, as India has favored other spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav in recent times.

Nevertheless, Chahal expressed his aspirations to represent India in red-ball cricket during an interview with Crictracker. He shared that like every cricketer, he has a dream of playing on the international stage and reaching the pinnacle by donning the whites and participating in Test matches. While he has achieved considerable success in white-ball cricket, Chahal still has the desire to add the title of “Test cricketer” to his name. To pursue this dream, he remains dedicated to giving his best in domestic and Ranji Trophy matches, with the hope of earning an opportunity to represent the Indian Test team in the near future.
