The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023’s Event Technical Committee has given the green light for a player substitution. Yannic Cariah, who suffered a nose injury during a training session, has been replaced by Kevin Sinclair in the West Indies squad. The approval of the Event Technical Committee is necessary for any player replacement to be officially added to the squad.
The committee is composed of Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events (Chair); Sarah Edgar, ICC Representative; Hamilton Masakadza, Host Tournament Director; Dirk Viljoen, Host Nominee; Pommie Mbangwa (Independent); Natalie Germanos (Independent), and Gurjit Singh, Managing Committee Affairs. Sinclair is expected to join the West Indies team on June 29 before their match against Scotland on July 1 in Harare.
