Mumbai Indians (MI) secured their third consecutive win of the season against SunRisers Hyderabad on Tuesday, thanks to a remarkable final over bowled by Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar. MI captain Rohit Sharma trusted the young pacer with the ball when SRH needed 20 runs in the last over. Arjun rose to the challenge and delivered a perfect over, claiming his first IPL wicket and sealing the match for MI.
He finished with figures of 1/18, and MI won the game by 14 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Arjun made his IPL debut last week against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar and gave away only five runs in the final over. Sachin expressed his delight on Twitter, praising MI’s all-around performance and his son’s achievement.
“Another superb all-round performance by Mumbai Indians. Cameron Green was impressed with both bat and ball, and Ishan and Tilak’s batting was exceptional. The IPL is becoming more captivating each day. Well done, boys! And finally, a Tendulkar has an IPL wicket!” Sachin tweeted.
