LSG Captain KL Rahul explains the rationale for the cautious approach against RR

After Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won by 10 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match, LSG skipper KL Rahul expressed that although their batting fell short by 10 runs, their bowling made up for it, and the absence of dew made the game fair for both teams. Avesh Khan’s impressive performance in the last over secured LSG’s victory in a thrilling encounter at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday.

During the 10-over mark, KL Rahul and Kyle discussed that 160 would be a decent total on the track since RR had strong bowlers who could use the conditions well. While they fell 10 runs short, they compensated for it with their bowling performance.

Additionally, the absence of dew provided equal conditions for both teams. The day before, the team expected 180 to be a par score, but after the first over by Boult, KL Rahul and Kyle realized that it was not a 180-wicket pitch. They adapted to the conditions and gave themselves time in the powerplay, which helped them score a respectable total of 160.

However, KL Rahul acknowledged that the run-out by Mishra and two back-to-back wickets gave RR a chance to come back into the game. As RR’s strength lies in their top four, LSG had to plan accordingly to get them out, which they executed well to secure the victory.
