The play-offs of the Indian Super League will kick-off on Friday with FC Goa and Mumbai City FC battling against each other for the win in first leg. With MCFC finishing on the top of the table, they have already qualified for the AFC Champions League. FC Goa also stopped one the strong teams of ISL, Hyderabad FC to qualify for the semi-finals. Both teams would want to edge over each other in the 1st leg only.
With a late slip and last moment recovery, MCFC hardly justified their position after beating down the mighty mariners. Sergio Lobera’s unit is looking solid and will be much stronger when Hugo and Rowlin would be joining in for the play-offs. The plank combination of Pranjal and Bipin is fatal for any defense line. Adam le Fondre and Ogbeche at forward positions are ready to shoot down any defense line. The defense looks solid with Fall, Jahouh and Santana and each one of them is equally capable of scoring goals too.
With the Gaurs unbeaten from their last 13 games, the form is with Juan’s side. The team is looking good and Brandon could be seen joining the Gaurs today. It will be very interesting to see Ishan Pandita’s use by coach, Juan. There are chances of Ishan getting a place in the starting line-up. The defense again needs to be super solid against a team like the Mumbai City FC and, Adil and Ivan will have the defense’s commands. Angulo and Ortiz’s combination at the front could be dangerous for the Islanders. Dheeraj’s performance would be a think to watch out for after his name in 35 men squad for the friendly matches against Oman and UAE.
