The opening match would be played between Sri Lanka and Ireland at the Kardinia Park Stadium. The tournament would be packed with a total of 45 matches with 16 teams participating.

Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup let us look at the top five rated bowlers who are to be watched out for this World Cup season.

5. Tabraiz Shamsi

Tabraiz Shamsi currently occupies the fifth position on the ICC Player Rankings for T20 bowlers owing to his rating of 681. The South African batsman and bowler is known for his unusual left arm spin bowling. Shamsi who has proved his mettle in the shortest format of the game is highly praised for his variations and accuracy. While the formative years of Shamsi’s career did not bring him much recognition, it was during the 2013/14, when the 30 year old came out as the third highest wicket-taker after he took a total of 47 wickets.

4. Ashton Agar

Ashton Agar from Australia with a total rating of 712 is placed fourth in this list. Ashton Agar was largely anonymous until Michael Clarke chose to include him in the playing XI ahead of the opening test of the Ashes series in England in 2013. The left handed spin bowler has fairly improved on both his batting and bowling skills over the years. The 26 year old who is now a part of Western Australia’s middle order is a name to be watched out for during the ICC T20 World Cup 2020.

3. Adam Zampa

The third name up on this list is of Adam Zampa from Australia with a total rating of 713. The 28 year old, right handed batsman is well known for his leg break googly bowling style. The striking resemblance of his bowling style to that of Shane Warne’s, makes him a much sought after bowler. Zampa’s unique style of tossing the ball up is seen as his strength. Adam has several laurels under his hat including becoming the second bowler to pull off a 6 wicket haul in the history of Indian T20 League and becoming the most successful spinner in the CPL of 2016 by taking down a total of 15 wickets.

2. Mujeeb Ur Rahman

The second most rated player on this list is Afghanistan right handed batsman, Mujeeb Ur Rahman with a rating of 742. The 19 year old who has an off break bowling style often mixes up the good old offspin, legspin and ripping googlies to deliver a complete package. The young player stole a four wicket haul against New Zealand in the under-19 World Cup to save Afghanistan a place in the semi final. He was also included as a part of Kings XI Punjab for a whooping 4 crore in IPL 2018.
