When discussing the transition from a lengthy T20 tournament to Test cricket, Shubman Gill expressed both enjoyment and the challenges associated with it. He acknowledged that his performance in the IPL would undoubtedly boost his confidence moving forward. However, Gill also recognized that Test cricket presents a different set of circumstances and that the conditions in England would differ significantly from those in India.
“While the IPL has certainly provided me with a sense of confidence, I am fully aware that Test cricket is an entirely different scenario and a whole new game. Yet, that’s what makes it so enjoyable. Just last week, we were engaged in a completely different format, with a distinct atmosphere. The challenge lies in adapting to the unique demands of Test cricket, and that’s precisely what makes it an exciting prospect,” Gill stated in an interview with ICC.
